Prepare your RV carefully before pickup to reduce delays and help protect the unit in transit.

Exterior checklist

  • Close, latch and lock doors, windows, roof vents and exterior compartments
  • Retract slide-outs, awnings, steps, antennas and leveling equipment
  • Remove or secure loose accessories, covers, ladders and portable items
  • Check tire condition, inflation, lug nuts, wheel bearings and visible suspension
  • Verify tail, brake, marker and turn-signal lights
  • Confirm trailer brakes, breakaway switch, battery and safety chains
  • Check hitch, kingpin, coupler and landing gear condition
  • Measure overall length, width and maximum height including roof equipment

Interior and mechanical checklist

  • Secure cabinets, drawers, appliances, furniture and televisions
  • Remove valuables, food, fragile goods and prohibited materials
  • Reduce or empty fresh, gray and black water tanks when appropriate
  • Turn off propane at the cylinders and secure batteries
  • Check for active fuel, oil, coolant, hydraulic or water leaks
  • For drive-away motorhomes, verify fluids, brakes and roadworthy condition
  • Provide keys, manuals and operating instructions as arranged
  • Take dated photos of all sides before pickup
Important: Requirements vary by RV and transport method. Disclose damage, weak tires, brake problems, leaks or non-running condition before dispatch. The driver must be able to refuse an unsafe unit.
